Habitat in the ‘Casinca’

Casinca Contes & légendes Corse
At the time of the legendary Countess Matilda, the Casinca had countless hamlets scattered in the countryside.

From the 16th century, these settlements were abandoned and the habitat systematically gathered around new castles, giving rise to villages with tall, shoulder to shoulder houses, wrapped around the rocky peaks.
