A few words on: Maria De Peretti Della Rocca

Born in Conca, near Porto-Vecchio, on December 30th, 1902 – Maria de Peretti Della Rocca died in Ravensbrück on March 15th, 1945. Both of her parents were teachers of the Third Republic. After her primary schooling in Conca, she went to Ajaccio for her secondary studies and then on to Paris to study medicine. And it is in Paris she will practice her vocation with the poor, who do not have the necessary resources to be taken care of. As soon as France became occupied, Maria de Peretti enters into resistance. She is recruited by the Marco Polo network, created under orders from London (BCRA = Secret Services of Free France). Victim of a denunciation, she is arrested and interrogated by the Milice and the Gestapo...

‘Life’s great, cheese makes it even better’- direction: La Fromagerie

Few are those who resist the temptation ‘Cheese is milk’s leap to immortality’, a poetic and artistic regard! whatever way you choose to look at cheese, it’s quite obvious it has maintained an important role in our nutrition. La Fromagerie was my next step, entering that delicious world of tasty suggestions – temptations we allow ourselves to indulge in, with such pleasure.

Julien Pedinielli opened La Fromagerie mid-July, 2018. He had previously studied at the Lycée Agricole in Sartène, and obtained a Bac Pro – his original idea was to work with nature but, his road would take an alternative turn...

L’Oru: Enter and follow the creative instinct

This is a wonderful chance for the island’s creators to be given the opportunity of being viewed, admired, followed and promoted. It was in December 2017 that L’Oru opened its doors in the centre of Ajaccio. We can thank Marie-Valentine Carette for this initiative; she chooses and contacts creators from all over the island, thus proposing a variety of products for public appraisal and inviting all of those interested in discovering natural talent which is not always accessible, for various reasons.

The area is spacious, welcoming and comfortable. I had the pleasure of meeting Antoinette Defranchi Filippi, who offered a very cordial greeting. The principle is quite simple...

Catching up with: Fred Poggi

It was high time to meet up with Fred Poggi once again, and discover all his news since 2014 (my previous article relating to Voce Ventu for their generous, inspiring and talented contribution to the musical scene in Corsica). With this encounter, I wished to learn more about Fred’s personal thoughts, hopes, achievements and fears.

Well, for one, and which certainly must be taken into consideration, Fred has become a father since our last chat – this, of course, has considerably changed his rhythm !  And, since 2015, he has been enjoying composing music for films – i.e: Les Exilés, Beatrice (Rinatu Frassati) and a documentary...

And the moon was born ..

Old legends tell us that one day, the goddess of dreams cried with happiness.
A tear dropped from her velvet eyes, and was carried away by the angel creators.

To make a jewel, these makers of the universe sculpted a pearl and the moon was born. And, every evening on the neighboring land, the divine glow of graceful beauty stretches out. Kneeling and humble, I raised my eyes. An intense moment of total adoration. I prayed, lifting my soul to the heavens.

The world reveals itself with a pale light, moon magic – my beloved Muse, my most faithful friend and ally.
